Mike's ready for the Great North Run...

Mike Privett is a man on a mission. allpay.net's IT Operations Manager is in training for this year's Great North Run so if you see him around the office wearing skimpy shorts and looking energetic don't be alarmed!

A hugely experienced runner, Mike has completed seven marathons, 10 triathlons and over 50 half marathons but there is just one problem - he hasn't done one for years.

"I ran the Great North Run in 1999 and always said I would try to do it again", explained Mike, "So after watching last year's on TV I decided to try and get in for 2005. About eight others from allpay entered the ballot to try and get an entry but I was the only one successful."

Now heavily into his training routine for the event, which takes place on September 18, Mike will be gradually building up the mileage over the next few months to ensure he is in peak condition.

Apart from getting fit, Mike is also looking for an appropriate charity to raise money for. He is open to suggestions and can be emailed at mike.privett@allpay.net.
